The Malian Customs Authority has announced an official directive enforcing the use of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) for all shipments.
All exporters and freight forwarders are reminded to secure the ECTN at the port of loading prior to shipment. Non-compliance may lead to penalties and delays in cargo clearance at the port of destination.
Official Notification:

What is a ECTN Document?
An ECTN (Electronic Cargo Tracking Note), also known as CTN, BSC, or Cargo Tracking Certificate, is mandatory for all shipments bound for Somali ports, including Mogadishu, Berbera, and Kismayo.
The ECTN system was established by the Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport of the Federal Republic of Somalia to enhance cargo visibility, improve port security, and ensure accurate customs data before cargo arrival. Failure to obtain the ECTN can result in severe penalties, shipment delays, or refusal of cargo discharge at Somali ports.
Get your Mali ECTN Certificate and enjoy a smooth, compliant, and delay-free shipping process. Avoid the risks and fines of non-compliance with Somalia’s cargo tracking regulations — ensure your shipment is fully certified before departure.
